Here are the frequently asked questions, to prevent any misunderstandings we would recommend to read these first.
Q: When are you open?
A: We don’t have set opening hours. You can check whether TuDo is open on our website or on our Telegram channel Activity Indicator (Opening Hours) During the semester, the makerspace is usually open every day.
Q: Which materials are available for 3D printing? Do I have to bring my own filament?
A: We have PLA and PETG filament available for use. You can bring your own filament for printing, but please only leave it in the print space while you are using it as the space is shared and limited. PLA or PETG filaments are allowed. Please do not print with other materials! Filament donations are always welcome 🙂
Q: Which 3D printers do you have? What is their print volume?
A: We have three different printers. All of them are FDM printers.
Prusa MK3: 250 x 210 x 210 mm
Anet A8: 220 x 220 x 240 mm
Creality CR10: 300 x 300 x 400mm
Q: How much do I have to pay for 3D printing?
A: We do not charge for 3D printing process, only for the materials used. You can find a scale with the recommended donation in the 3D printing room.
Q: Are there restrictions on how long I can print?
A: We do not limit print times per se. However, please try to avoid unnecessarily long print times, especially during the day, as you are blocking the printers for others. If you have large and complex models (e.g. for architecture) please consider using professional 3D printing services.
Q: What do I need to do to use the Wood Workshop?
A: Before using our Wood Workshop for the first time you have to attend a short safety briefing/introduction. If you are interested send us a message on Telegram and we will get back to you. Please note that the availability of safety briefings is based on personal schedules, so it may take a few days before someone can offer an appointment. We try to provide a regular appointment at the beginning of each semester.
